ABSTRACT
1.1. Background Asthma is defined by the global initiative for asthma management and prevention (GINA), as a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways, in which many cells and cellular elements play a role. The chronic inflammation is associated with airway hyper responsiveness that leads to recurrent episodes of wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and coughing, particularly at night or in the early morning. These episodes are usually associated with widespread, but variable airflow obstruction within the lung that is often reversible either spontaneously or with treatment. However, the diagnosis of asthma is in most cases a clinical one than one of the symptoms of wheeze, cough, chest tightness, and breathlessness with variable airway obstruction is usually sufficient to make a diagnosis of asthma. The specificity of these symptoms and signs is low because they occur in many other conditions.[1]
