ABSTRACT

This narrative review provides an overview of updates on Chronic Obstructive pulmonary Disease (COPD). This disease is a pulmonary health condition characterized by airway obstruction, chronic inflammation, and persistent symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, and excessive mucus production. It is typically caused by prolonged exposure to risk factors, with smoking being the most common factor. COPD stands as one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and its effective management is essential for improving patients' quality of life. The aim of this article is to offer a comprehensive insight into updates on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The conclusion of this work includes recommendations for future research and enhancements in COPD treatment, with the goal of providing a better quality of life and wellbeing for those affected by these conditions.
